M25 BLOCKED by Just Stop Oil, Promises to Disrupt ‘Site of Civil Resistance’ the Whole WEEK

Motorists travelling along the M25 today are advised to take a different route as Just Stop Oil protestors have disrupted three lanes of the highway, causing over a nine-mile traffic jam between Cobham and Guildford as of this writing.

Just Stop Oil Eco-activists announced that their group is set to block the road all week as they predict that record temperatures will cause “society to collapse in 20 years.”

In a statement, Just Stop Oil is “declaring the M25 a site of civil resistance” and asked that “no one travel on this motorway from Wednesday to Friday this week as we will be blocking the highway.”

The incident is currently causing ongoing delays, particularly for those travelling to and from Heathrow Airport.

‘We are currently on a gantry above the M25,’ said two of the protesters. It’s very windy and loud up here. We have securely tied a banner over the edge that says JUST STOP OIL because that is what our government must do.

‘It must stop new oil and gas licences in the North Sea. We are risking our civil liberty being up here, we do not want to be up here, but we feel it is what we must do.

The latest public inconvenience caused by Just Stop Oil has been triggered by the Tuesday heatwave that literally burned Britain – considering the day as the hottest in history.

‘The main thing is, we’ve just seen 40-degree temperatures, which have been predicted for decades, maybe it’s happening a bit faster, but it has just revealed how inadequate the Government’s preparations for climate change are and their entire policy, and basically, we’re just saying, it’s evident now we cannot continue,’ Just Stop Oil added.

Two weeks ago, activists from the same group glued themselves to the frame of a copy of Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper at London’s Royal Academy of Arts.

On Saturday, Just Stop Oil will march and sit down in Westminster with “thousands of ordinary people” to create “mass civil resistance.”
