Prince Harry ‘has to put Meghan Markle first’ after skipping visit to sick Royals

Prince Harry is “between a rock and a hard place” as he tries to balance the health issue in the Royal Family and his wife Meghan Markle.

On Tuesday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the film premiere of Bob Marley: One Love, making an unusual appearance on the red carpet. Harry accepted an accolade at the Living Legends of Aviation Awards a few days prior to the event.

King Charles and the Princess of Wales have been receiving medical attention in the hospital the past weeks. While recovering from abdominal surgery, Princess Kate is presently in the hospital, while King Charles is to receive treatment for an enlarged prostate.

When Harry made a speech at the Living Legend of Aviation Awards, he made sure to steer clear of any reference to his father and sister-in-law’s health issues. Instead, Harry joked about his first flight experience.

Royal expert Angela Levin said Harry disregarded the Royal health problems, something which reflects the tense relationship the Sussexes have with The Firm. She said: “He didn’t say anything. I felt that he was bound to say ‘I’m so sorry to hear that both my father and sister-in-law are unwell’. He just needed to say one sentence.”

Harry and Meghan were criticised for flying to Jamaica for the Bob Marley: One Love premiere, with many experts calling on them to instead visit the UK and support the Royal Family.

Royal expert Phil Dampier told the Daily Mail: “Under normal circumstances there would be nothing wrong with them going to a film premiere. But at a time when his father is going under the knife and Jamaica is making noises about ditching the monarchy, this is rather insensitive.”

Posting on X, formerly known as Twitter, Royal New Network wrote: “So Prince Harry and Meghan Markle can’t visit or seem to care about sick family members, but can travel to Jamaica to see a Bob Marley movie. The difference? A red carpet of course.”

Angela said Harry seems to be stuck “between a rock and a hard place”. Moreover, she added: “Deep down, he still loves his family. But she comes first and that’s ok.”
