King Charles’ wish for son Harry, that Prince William and Kate won’t allow

Last week, King Charles celebrated his 75th birthday with an intimate meal at Clarence House, surrounded by close family and friends – and as far as birthday wishes go, the King’s may have already come true before the candles on the cake were blown out.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are said to have called King Charles to wish him a happy birthday.

While a call from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle was a birthday wish for King Charles’ 75th birthday last week, Prince William and Kate remained wary.

Prince Harry, 39, and Meghan Markle, 42, have been residing in Montecito, California, since their high-profile Megxit divorce in 2020, and have not spoken to the King in over six months.

The pair earlier stated that they received “no contact” regarding King Charles’ evening birthday event, but any ill will was erased when the couple reached out to wish him well on his special day.

It was described as “friendly and cordial,” with Prince Harry and Meghan allegedly sending a video message to the King of their children, Prince Archie, four, and Princess Lilibet, two, a gesture that left him “very emotional.”

“He was really taken with it,” a source claimed. “Relations between the King and his son are still very strained, but he would never let that get in the way of having a relationship with his grandchildren, who he hasn’t seen for a very long time.”

The overture may have prompted King Charles to examine the possibility of resolving tensions, but Prince William, Kate, and Queen Camilla may be difficult to persuade in the ongoing royal schism.

“William is absolutely determined not to repair relations. His wife Kate has been hugely insulted by Harry and Meghan, and he sees Harry as a curse on the monarchy and on their lives. He has absolutely no intention of readmitting him into his life,” the source said.
