To escape the “socialist basket case” that is America, US companies are crossing the Atlantic to Brexit-era Britain.
According to a Conservative expert, the USA has gained favour with Brexit Britain due to its lack of ties to the EU. “There is a significant flight of wealthy elites from large Democrat-run US states, particularly from California,” said Niles Gardner. “Many executives are ironically moving to Brexit Britain.”
He claimed that prestigious businesses are moving operations to the UK, including Meta, which has 4,000 people there.
Even the leader of Instagram, which is a subsidiary of Meta, Adam Mosseri, is flying to London.
“As much as US elites like to hiss at Brexit, Global Britain, free from the constraints of the EU, is an increasingly attractive place to do business for Americans, especially in comparison to Left-wing California,” Mr. Gardner said. “Left-wing California is frequently derided today as a socialist basket case by US conservatives.”
He followed by issuing a rallying cry for Liz Truss, a contender for the British leadership who has been instrumental in the country’s exit from the European Union.
He said: “The United Kingdom should thrive and prosper outside of the European Union and will increasingly attract American entrepreneurs that want to succeed in a safe, vibrant environment that advances free market thinking while rejecting the siren call of socialism.
“Thatcherism is the antithesis of the California model, and its proposed revival under Ms Truss is the perfect recipe for British success in the Brexit era.”
