Universal Studios planning first UK theme park as it buys huge site in Bedford

According to reports, Universal Studios has already purchased a sizable plot of land 45 minutes outside London and is starting to develop its first theme park in the UK.

Currently operating attractions in the US and Asia, the Hollywood heavyweight is considering building a location in Bedford.

According to a representative for Universal Destinations and Experiences, the business is “in the early stages of exploring its feasibility for a potential park and resort at this site.”

They went on, saying, “We look forward to engaging with all relevant stakeholders and the local community and it will be many months before we are ready to make a decision to proceed.”

The Bedford property spans acres of ground on either side of Kempston Hardwick station and Manor Road, and is only a fifteen-minute drive from the town centre.

The area is conveniently accessible from Luton airport and is 45 minutes away by train from London.

It is estimated that over 50% of the UK population resides within two hours of the location.

The business currently has locations in Singapore, Beijing, Hollywood, and Orlando in addition to these other locations. There are rides in Universal theme parks that are themed around films like Jurassic World, Fast & Furious, and Despicable Me.
