UK Ministry of Defence predicts ‘war’ for Britain at the end of the decade

Defence Secretary Ben Wallace has delivered a terrifying prediction, warning Britain will be at war “by the end of this decade”.

“Conflict is coming by the end of this decade… whether it’s a cold war or a hot war,” Mr Wallace declared.

The world is “definitely more dangerous, unstable, and insecure,” according to the former army captain.

“We just have to recognise that in order to deter, you just have to be ready, equipped, and stand with your friends and allies,” he said.

Mr Wallace is battling the Treasury for additional funding for the Ministry of Defence on the anniversary of Putin’s invasion.

“The world is becoming more dangerous, anxious, and insecure… we need a higher proportion of public spending on defence,” he said during a visit to Bovington Camp in Dorset.

Britain must “be ready for whatever could happen” next in the conflict in eastern Europe, according to Mr Wallace.

Following President Zelensky’s surprise visit to the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak promised to increase the delivery of “lethal aid” to Kyiv.

No. 10 assured that Britain will “upskill a further 20,000 Ukrainian soldiers” in 2023, in addition to the 10,000 troops trained so far under Operation Interflex.
