First time! Sunak becomes least popular Cabinet among Conservatives in latest satisfaction ratings

Following a string of government blunders, Rishi Sunak’s popularity has dropped among Tory Party members.

According to the ConservativeHome website’s monthly cabinet league table, the prime minister has an approval rating of minus 25.4, his lowest ever.

Kemi Badenoch leads the vote with a score of plus 63.4, followed by Penny Mordaunt on 49.8 and Johnny Mercer on 45.4.

It indicates that Sunak is currently the least popular cabinet member among Conservative members.

A total of 750 party members took part in the study, which last month ranked Sunak ninth from the bottom with a + 7.1 approval rating. He was in sixth place on plus 26 points a month ago.

The poll was conducted in the aftermath of last week’s spat with Greece over the Elgin Marbles, in which Sunak cancelled a meeting with the country’s prime minister to reiterate his desire for the ancient sculpture to be restored to Athens from the UK.

Sunak is also under fire from Tory MPs to explain how the government intends to respond to the Supreme Court’s verdict last month that the Rwanda scheme is illegal.

Meanwhile, despite the Prime Minister’s repeated attempts to resuscitate the party’s prospects, the Conservatives remain far behind Labour in opinion polls.
