The study was based on the number of break-ins per 100,000 people during the last few years in November and December.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
South Yorkshire had the highest burglaries in November and December, with 148.5 per 100,000 people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Between 2020 and 2022, there were a total of 6,121 November and December burglaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
London had the most burglaries over that period, with 29,124, although the rate per 100,000 was lower. There were 110.5 burglaries for every 100,000 people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The experts discussed strategies to lessen the chance of being targeted, such as installing security, securing doors, and using timed lights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This gives the appearance that someone is home, deterring potential burglars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “Smart plugs and bulbs can be programmed to simulate your usual daily routines.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n Secure valuables<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n “Store valuable items, such as jewellery and important documents, in a secure and hidden location. Consider using a safe for added protection,” the experts stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Social media caution<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n They said: “Be mindful of what you share on social media.
