Just after his divisive Netflix documentary series, Prince Harry stated in a new interview to promote his upcoming book that he wishes to reconcile with his father, King Charles III, and brother, Prince William, the Prince of Wales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During an interview with UK broadcaster ITV to promote his new book, Spare, Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, expressed a desire to reconcile with his father and brother, but predicted such efforts would fail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt never needed to be this way, the leaking and the planting. I want a family, not an institution,\u201d The Duke of Sussex said and added, \u201cThey feel as though it\u2019s better to keep us somehow as the villains.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThey\u2019ve shown absolutely no willingness to reconcile. I would like to get my father back. I would like to have my brother back,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The comments were released as part of a trailer for the upcoming interview, which is expected to last 90 minutes in total and is one of two granted by the Duke of Sussex, the other being conducted by Anderson Cooper for CBS News’ 60 Minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The family motto is ‘never complain, never explain,’ but it’s just a motto,” Prince Harry told Cooper, adding that palace aides “spoon-fed” information to reporters. “So when we’ve been told for the last six years, ‘we can’t put a statement out to protect you,’ but you do it for other members of the family, there comes a point when silence is betrayal,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
