Edi Rama, re-elected Albanian Prime Minister for the third time in 2021, appeared on Newsnight with BBC journalist Victoria Derbyshire yesterday to discuss comments by the Home Secretary and Rishi Sunak’s Government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because of the migration crisis, when “failed policies” are to blame, Albania’s prime minister described Britain as a “madhouse” with a culture of “finding scapegoats.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr Rama said: \u201cIt\u2019s about the climate that has been created, and it\u2019s about finding scapegoats and blaming others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhile it\u2019s very obvious, even from Tirana, which is not so near to London, that it\u2019s about failed policies, it\u2019s not about Albanians or aliens or gangsters, but it\u2019s about failed policies on borders and on crime.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBritain was a role model in this and now is becoming like, I don\u2019t know, like a madhouse,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ms Braverman has come under fire for frequently singling out Albanian asylum seekers after their numbers crossing the Channel in small boats skyrocketed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr Rama continued in a tweet: \u201cTargeting Albanians (as some shamefully did when fighting for Brexit) as the cause of Britain\u2019s crime and border problems makes for easy rhetoric but ignores hard fact.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
