Protesters from Just Stop Oil sprayed paint on the Aston Martin showroom in London. The protesters, who want the government to halt all new oil and gas licences and consents, set up the roadblock at 11 a.m. on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Demonstrators sat down in the street, holding large orange banners, with some glueing or locking themselves together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After that, one protester sprayed orange paint on the nearby Aston Martin showroom in Park Lane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chloe Thomas, 19, a pregnant mother and freelancer from Cannock who joined the action, said: \u201cHow do I explain to my daughter in the years to come where the animals went, where the culture went, where the beauty went, why there are no bees and why I can\u2019t put food in her tummy?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou know it\u2019s bad, don\u2019t you? As citizens, as humans, as parents and children, we have a responsibility and a right under British law to protect ourselves and those we love.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Please understand these actions are not easy for any of us,” said Patrick Michael John McCarthy, 67, a carer from Telford who was also at the protest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt is uncomfortable, sometimes frightening and financially draining, so why do it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBecause we have seen the devastating truth about the existential threats we face and cannot \u2018unsee\u2019 that. The real question is why millions aren\u2019t in civil resistance rather than why I am.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just Stop Oil protesters threw tins of tomato soup over Vincent van Gogh’s Sunflowers painting in the National Gallery and sprayed paint over the rotating New Scotland Yard sign just a few days ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
