{"id":2518,"date":"2022-08-30T07:54:41","date_gmt":"2022-08-30T07:54:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/savebritain.org\/?p=2518"},"modified":"2022-08-30T07:54:45","modified_gmt":"2022-08-30T07:54:45","slug":"londons-crime-party-full-list-of-arrests-and-violence-committed-in-the-multicultural-notting-hill-carnival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/savebritain.org\/londons-crime-party-full-list-of-arrests-and-violence-committed-in-the-multicultural-notting-hill-carnival\/","title":{"rendered":"London\u2019s Crime Party: Full List of Arrests and Violence Committed in the Multicultural Notting Hill Carnival"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>For the first time since the pandemic, London&#8217;s multicultural Notting Hill Carnival has returned, bringing the usual drug crime, sexual assaults, and deadly stabbings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the Metropolitan Police claimed on August 28th that &#8220;Carnival is a great event to the police,&#8221; it ended on a predictably sour note on Monday, with a murder investigation launched after a 21-year-old man, who has yet to be identified, was stabbed to death in the early evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Alison Heydari, Commander of Local Policing, stated that the &#8220;atmosphere over the past two days has been largely positive and good-natured as Carnival should be&#8221; \u2014 one might even say &#8220;mostly peaceful&#8221; \u2014 before adding, &#8220;[r]egrettably, on Monday evening we saw a number of violent incidents and a 21-year-old man has lost his life.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur thoughts are with his family as they come to terms with their terrible loss,\u201d Heydari added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cA murder investigation is underway, led by homicide detectives from the Met\u2019s Specialist Crime Command.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Overall, the Metropolitan Police confirmed that it had made 209 arrests during the carnival for the following offences:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>36 x possession of drugs<\/li><li>5 x criminal damage<\/li><li>27 x public order<\/li><li>46 x assault<\/li><li>8 x sexual assault<\/li><li>10 x possession of psychoactive substances<\/li><li>33 x possession of an offensive weapon<\/li><li>7 x drink\/drug driving<\/li><li>35 x others<\/li><li>1 x theft<\/li><li>1 x robbery<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>However, this clearly understates the accurate scale of criminality at the event because it excludes crimes for which no one has yet been arrested \u2014 including the killing above.<\/p>\n<!-- wpsso rrssb get buttons: buttons on archive option not enabled -->\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For the first time since the pandemic, London&#8217;s multicultural Notting Hill Carnival has returned, bringing the usual drug crime, sexual assaults, and deadly stabbings.
