Former USA President Donald Trump said Monday that the FBI “raided” his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida and even cracked his safe, reporting that the search was linked to classified information Trump allegedly took with him from the White House to his Palm Beach resort in January 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“These are dark times for our Nation,” Trump said in a lengthy email statement issued by his Save America political committee. “My beautiful home, Mar-A-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, is currently under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The raid of an ex-President’s home represents a significant escalation in the investigation of the records, which is one of several probes Mr Trump is facing during his time in office and in private business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, speaking about the incident on GB News’ Breakfast with Eamonn and Isabel, Nigel Farage said he was “utterly appalled,” adding that he believes the raid will help Mr Trump if he runs for President in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Utterly appalled, shocked,” Nigel said. I know there\u2019s been a witch hunt against Donald Trump ever since he was elected in 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo former President, even people like Nixon who left office in disgrace, no former President has ever been treated like this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey\u2019re scared he\u2019s going to come back, his party will storm the mid-terms and he\u2019s coming back to the White House in 2024.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He added: \u201cAnd to any fair-minded person, they are going to say \u2018how on earth can this be happening in 21st century America? What have we become?\u2019 A banana republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAnd actually, in terms of the electorate and fair-minded people it will play very heavily in Donald trump\u2019s behaviour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When asked when he would make a formal announcement about his candidacy at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Texas, Mr Trump said, “It’s certainly not a long period of time, the time is coming.” I believe people will be overjoyed; our country has never been in a position like this; we’ve lost everything.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
