Ukraine APPROVES of Boris Johnson as ‘New’ UK Prime Minister

Boris Johnson appeared to have received Kyiv’s support last night as he continues to drum up support in the House of Commons for a possible leadership bid.

Mr Johnson, who stepped down as Prime Minister last month, was regarded as a key ally of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during his tenure in Downing Street.

In July, Mr Zelensky thanked the Uxbridge and South Ruislip MP Zelensky thanked the Uxbridge and South Ruislip MP in July for his “substantial political support, strong sanctions against Russia, and financial assistance” to Ukraine.

However, Mr Johnson’s social media post last night may help boost his chances of succeeding Liz Truss, as he seeks to become the first Prime Minister since Harold Wilson to serve for two non-consecutive terms.

The post featured a promo for season four of Netflix’s hit show Better Call Saul, but instead of a picture of the lead, Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk), it featured Mr Johnson’s face.

It was also accompanied by the caption “Better call Boris.”

Lord Moylan, a former adviser to Mr Johnson during his tenure as Mayor of London, has expressed support for Ukraine’s appointment.

“Comment from Ukraine’s heroic government,” he said.

However, not everyone agreed with the tweet from Ukraine’s official Twitter account.

“It’s the British people who support you, not him,” wrote Anna Turley, who lost her Redcar seat to Mr Johnson’s Conservative Party in 2019.

“We won’t stop supporting you,” said John Haywood, a Labour councillor in Hampshire. “But this delving into our politics is a serious mistake.”

Despite resigning as Prime Minister in July in the face of more than 60 resignations from the government, Mr Johnson currently leads the Conservative Party’s MPs in the race to replace Ms Truss.
