Open the Gates: Sunak to Launch ‘Growth Visa’ to Bring In More Migrants to Britain Despite Crisis

Rishi Sunak is reportedly planning to introduce a “growth visa” to bring in more workers to Britain, demonstrating that the Conservative party had no intention of actually reducing immigration after Brexit.

Rishi Sunak’s government is said to have revived Liz Truss’s scheme to introduce a “growth visa” to attract foreign labour to work on various infrastructure projects, such as new wind, solar, nuclear, rail, telecoms, digital, and road projects, in order to ostensibly increase economic output.

A source within Number 10 Downing Street confirmed to the Daily Telegraph, the broadsheet most closely aligned with the ruling Conservative party, that the plan is “still being discussed.”

When Mr Sunak previously pledged to fulfil the pledge from the 2019 Tory manifesto, on which the current government was elected, the government confirmed that all commitments Sunak made during the summer campaign are being reviewed and may be scrapped in light of current economic conditions.

Even so, Sunak is currently attempting to negotiate a post-Brexit trade agreement with India, in which the Modi government in New Delhi would likely press the UK to open up more avenues for migration for its citizens in exchange for increased trade cooperation.

This week, it was revealed that the government has done no research into the potential economic impact on Britain’s native population.

The Department for International Trade then admitted that the government “has not produced any research examining whether free trade with India might result in work currently performed in Britain being outsourced to that country.”
