Lorry Crashes as Just Stop Oil Protesters Continue Chaos on M25 – Roads to AVOID Here

After a lorry crashed on the M25 during the Just Stop Oil protests, a person was arrested for causing a public nuisance.

The vehicle struck and injured a police officer after a rolling roadblock was set up due to a person on the road.

According to Essex Police, the incident, which occurred on Wednesday morning, resulted in road closures between J26 and J27 clockwise.

The police have not confirmed whether the accident was caused by activists who had been demonstrating in the area, and the cause of the accident is unknown.

“We’re currently responding to an incident and subsequent lorry collision on the M25,” it said.

Officers were also on the scene at J30 of the M25, where one Just Stop Oil protester had climbed a gantry and one person had been detained.

Police warned that the action would disrupt traffic in the area.

Meanwhile, Surrey Police confirmed that one protester was on a gantry near the M8 junction.

“Officers are proactively patrolling the rest of the M25, as they have been all week,” the force said.

“We’re ready to respond to any protest activity on #M25 with partner forces again today,” the Metropolitan Police said on Twitter.

“We understand that this disruption is extremely inconvenient for the public.”

“We will act as quickly as possible to remove any individuals intent on obstructing the road and re-establish traffic flow.”

Just Stop Oil staged 32 days of disruption from the end of September to the end of October, resulting in 677 arrests, 111 people charged, and officers working a total of 9,438 additional shifts, according to the Met.
