BREAKING: NATO and G7 Leaders Hold EMERGENCY Meeting After ‘Russian Missiles’ Bomb Poland, Raise Fears of Worst European Conflict Since WWII

NATO officials and G7 leaders are meeting today to plan a “collective response” to what is believed to be a Russian missile strike on Polish territory, which killed two people and put Europe on the brink of war.

Missiles landed inside NATO territory for the first time since the Russian invasion of Ukraine began in February, reigniting fears that the fighting could escalate into Europe’s worst conflict since World War II.

After apparently being intercepted by Ukrainian air defence systems, the weapons exploded on a grain farm in the rural village of Przewodow, five miles from the country’s border with Ukraine.

The resulting explosions killed two people, sparking a diplomatic crisis and a military response that included the dispatch of Polish fighter jets and the deployment of troops to surround the scene.

In the meantime, Biden told reporters in Bali that it was “unlikely in the minds of the trajectory that the missile was fired from Russia,” but vowed to “figure out exactly what happened.”

Following the explosions, U.S. President Joe Biden convened an emergency roundtable of G20 leaders in Indonesia on Wednesday morning, including British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, and Canada’s Justin Trudeau.

There was speculation that the explosion was caused by a Russian missile shot down over Ukrainian skies before landing in Poland, with some defence researchers claiming parts of the debris resembled components of Ukraine’s S-300 air defence system, though no conclusive evidence was found.

Meanwhile, RT’s editor-in-chief, Margarita Simonyan, expressed surprise on social media, claiming that ‘the probability that a modern Russian missile will go off course so much is about the same as meeting a living dinosaur on the street… there is a high probability that this is either a Ukrainian mistake or a Polish provocation. Or British.’

As a NATO member, Poland can request that members of the defence alliance come to its aid in the event of an armed attack.
